Auchrannie has a unique and inspiring history. In 1988, Iain & Linda Johnston acquired a small 16-bedroom guest house with a view to building an indoor swimming pool for the island community and the vision to help establish the Isle of Arran as an all-year-round tourist destination. Auchrannie was born!

In the process of achieving this vision, Auchrannie has grown into a fully-fledged resort comprising of two 4-star hotels with 85 rooms, thirty 5-star self-catering luxury lodges, 14 retreats, iconic restaurants, a shop, two leisure clubs with pools, a destination spa, an outdoor adventure centre and a children’s indoor soft-play.

Auchrannie was owned by the Johnston family, until November 2017 when it became Employee Owned. Auchrannie will therefore always remain an independent, locally run, people centric business with our team and community values at its heart.
